Here’s a friendly reminder that can give a little perspective. It’s easy to get caught up in the pursuit of a perfect body…and withhold love for ourselves until we achieve it. If there is one thing life has taught me, it’s that there’s a constant ebb and flow. We’re up a pound, we’re down a pound, or maybe five or ten. The trick is to remember to give yourself love when you need it most; and as it is with misbehaving children, we need our own love and acceptance – without any conditions – when we aren’t at our best.
It’s a little ironic, but I’ve found that I am more likely to take good care of myself when I am feeling good about myself. Eating healthily and exercising is more automatic and less of a punishment, and I’m more likely to keep it up. So don’t shame or bully or guilt yourself into a healthy lifestyle; reward yourself with it. You deserve to feel your best!
